“Check It Out” Summer Reading Program

Every year, the New York Tri-State McDonald’s Owners and Operators partner with educators, library directors and children’s organizations to create a summer reading program for elementary school students.

The program rewards young children who visit their local libraries and read five books with a free McDonald’s Happy Meal, and the booklet created to promote the program each year includes recommended reading, tips for building good reading habits, and a checklist for tracking progress.
